Fun, skill-building track & cross country teams for kids of all levels - Helping kids have fun, stay active, & build confidence through track & cross country.

Race Cats is a dynamic youth running program dedicated to helping kids have fun, stay active, and build confidence through track and cross country. Designed for children of all experience levels, Race Cats creates a positive and encouraging environment where effort, attitude, and personal growth are celebrated.

Offering both fall cross country and spring track and field programs, Race Cats introduces young athletes to a variety of running and field events. The cross country season runs from September through October and focuses on long-distance running, while the track and field season begins in April and allows kids to explore running, jumping, and throwing events. Each program is carefully structured to help children develop skills while enjoying the process.

Race Cats serves multiple communities across Utah, including Utah County, Davis School District, Granite School District, Salt Lake City, Heber/Midway, Sandy, and Tooele. Elementary teams typically practice twice a week for one hour at local schools or parks, making participation convenient and accessible for families. Kids are grouped by age and ability, ensuring they feel supported and challenged at the right level.

For older or more competitive athletes, Race Cats offers competition teams with extended seasons, additional meets, and experienced coaching. These teams are ideal for middle school and junior high students looking to refine their abilities and prepare for high school athletics.

Throughout the season, participants have opportunities to compete in organized meets, build friendships, and gain a lifelong appreciation for fitness and the outdoors. Race distances are age-appropriate, helping young runners progress safely and confidently.

As a nonprofit organization, Race Cats is committed to making youth athletics accessible and rewarding. Whether your child is just starting out or ready to compete, Race Cats provides a supportive pathway to growth, teamwork, and personal achievement through running.
