Coding, robotics, & engineering - hands-on, project-based learning where kids build technical skills & grow in confidence & creativity.

At Code N Bots, students explore coding, robotics, and engineering through hands-on, project-based learning. Code N Bots provides a consistent, calm space where kids can build technical skills while growing in confidence and creativity.

Programs at Code N Bots focus on real-world problem-solving and critical thinking. Whether students are new to STEM or ready to expand on what they already know, Code N Bots breaks complex topics down into manageable steps. They use a steady, encouraging approach to make learning feel achievable and exciting — not overwhelming.

At Code N Bots, lessons about working with people are taught alongside lessons about working with robots. Code N Bots programs emphasize proven principles of effective human interaction as taught in books such as 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and How to Win Friends and Influence People. Code N Bots students immediately apply these principles as they collaborate to solve engineering challenges.

Melissa Madsen founded Code N Bots and personally leads all programs. After a career in aerospace engineering, Melissa turned her attention to teaching coding and robotics in 2017. She studied Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University and subsequently performed hardware design and structural analysis for rockets and fighter jets at aerospace engineering firms in Los Angeles, California.

Code N Bots has a variety of program options and you decide which is best for you, whether it is a weekly class geared to your age and ability, a weeklong summer camp, or an intensive competition team that puts your robotics-engineering and teamwork skills to the test against other teams. Classes and teams run from mid-August through mid-May, and camps are offered throughout the summer.

The classes and programs are especially effective for learners who benefit from repetition, structure, and a visual or kinesthetic approach to problem-solving. Kids are given time to experiment, ask questions, and work through challenges with support.
