Our Journey Montessori School is a private Montessori school in Riverton, Utah, serving children from infancy through 8th grade. The school provides an authentic Montessori education centered on the development of the whole child, combining strong academics with independence, creativity, confidence, social-emotional growth, practical life skills, and a sense of responsibility to others.
The school’s programs include Infant and Toddler care, Early Childhood, Elementary I, Elementary II, and Middle School. Mixed-age classrooms allow children to learn at their own pace while developing relationships with both younger and older classmates. Hands-on Montessori materials help students move from concrete experiences to more abstract academic concepts, while teachers serve as guides who observe students and introduce lessons according to their individual readiness.
Academic instruction encompasses language, reading, writing, mathematics, science, geography, history, culture, music, art, physical education, and other areas. Older students also participate in project-based learning, technology-supported research, field trips, community service, and opportunities for deeper exploration of individual interests.
Outdoor learning is an important part of the school’s environment. The 2.25-acre campus includes open fields, mature trees, gardens, natural areas, playgrounds, and an urban agriculture space where children can explore, build, climb, observe, and care for living things. Students also participate in regular field trips and experiential learning activities.
Our Journey offers extended-day and summer programs as well, providing continued Montessori experiences beyond the regular school day. The school is also an approved provider for Utah Fits All and the Carson Smith Scholarship for qualifying students.
Overall, Our Journey Montessori offers families a continuous, child-centered educational experience designed to nurture capable, curious, compassionate, and independent lifelong learners.
