Inclusive Montessori Education for Infants, Children & Young Adults

Elizabeth Academy offers inclusive Montessori education for children from infancy through sixth grade, along with a postsecondary program for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Its educational approach combines individualized instruction, hands-on learning, academic development, and social-emotional growth in classrooms designed to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and needs.

The early childhood program serves children ages three to six, building foundational skills in reading, writing, mathematics, language, practical life activities, and social interaction. Elementary programs for kindergarten through sixth grade emphasize core academics, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaborative learning, science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Multi-age classrooms encourage students to learn at their own pace, explore individual interests, and develop independence while learning alongside peers.

Inclusive education is central to the school’s philosophy. Students with diverse abilities learn together in shared classroom environments, promoting mutual respect, cooperation, peer mentoring, and a sense of belonging. Teachers adapt learning experiences to students’ developmental stages, strengths, and educational goals.

Enrichment programs extend learning through visual arts, music, dance, theatre, film, and experiential activities. These programs connect academic concepts with creative expression, cultural exploration, communication, and practical application.

For young adults ages 18 and older, the Lifelong Elizabeth Academy Program (LEAP) provides postsecondary education focused on humanities, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, electives, community participation, and preparation for college, careers, and independent living. The program supports continued learning and personal development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Through Montessori instruction, inclusive classrooms, arts enrichment, and postsecondary learning opportunities, Elizabeth Academy provides educational programs that support academic progress, independence, social development, and lifelong learning.
