Get Your Own Guitar Studio provides private online music lessons for children, teens, adults, and homeschool families. Founded by instructor Gillian Scholle, the studio helps students develop musical skills, build confidence, and learn to play the songs they love. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Gillian tailors lessons to each student’s abilities, interests, learning style, and goals, making music education approachable for beginners and rewarding for experienced players.
Students can choose from several instruments, including acoustic, electric, classical, and 12-string guitar, banjo, ukulele, and banjolele. Young children ages three to eight can also explore the Loog Guitar, a simplified instrument designed for smaller hands and beginning musicians. Lessons focus on practical skills such as changing chords smoothly, navigating the fretboard, developing rhythm, learning picking and strumming patterns, and singing while playing. Students can work toward playing familiar songs, exploring different musical styles, and creating their own music.
All lessons are currently offered online, allowing students to learn from home without commuting. Flexible scheduling helps families fit music instruction into busy routines, and homeschool students can often schedule lessons during the school day. The individualized format allows Gillian to adjust her teaching approach when students feel frustrated or need additional support, helping them build skills at a comfortable pace.
Beyond musical instruction, Get Your Own Guitar Studio emphasizes confidence, focus, creativity, consistency, and goal-setting. Gillian also draws on her experience as a certified life and wellness coach to incorporate encouragement and mindset development into lessons. Student and parent testimonials describe improvements in musical ability, confidence, concentration, and enjoyment of learning.
Get Your Own Guitar Studio is an approved vendor for the Utah Fits All Scholarship Program, Harmony Education Services, and the Carson Smith Opportunity. Eligible families may be able to use approved program funding for lessons, while private enrollment is also available.
Whether a student is picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to music after a break, Get Your Own Guitar Studio offers personalized instruction designed to make learning music enjoyable, flexible, and confidence-building.
