Academy of Ballet Arts is a South Jordan, Utah dance studio specializing in classical ballet and contemporary dance while offering a broad range of additional dance disciplines. The academy is built around the belief that dance is an art rather than a competition, creating a caring, friendly, and non-competitive environment where students receive individualized instruction and are encouraged to feel successful at every level.
Programs begin with creative dance for children ages 3–4 and basic ballet for ages 5–7, introducing young dancers to movement, rhythm, coordination, alignment, and foundational technique. Students ages 8 and older can progress through multiple levels of classical ballet, with advanced training available in pointe, variations, and pas de deux partnering.
Beyond ballet, the academy offers jazz, hip-hop, tap, modern, lyrical, character dance, and dance conditioning/Pilates. These classes help students develop strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, versatility, and expressive movement while complementing their classical training.
The academy’s focus on technique and performance has helped prepare students for collegiate and professional opportunities. Former students have gone on to receive scholarships and pursue dance with organizations and programs including Ballet West, Joffrey Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, the University of Utah, BYU, and others.
For families seeking quality dance education without an overly competitive atmosphere, Academy of Ballet Arts provides structured training, personal attention, diverse dance opportunities, and a supportive environment designed to help dancers grow both technically and artistically.
