Online Photography Courses for Teens and Creative Families

Marcie Photo provides online photography education designed to help teens and families develop creative skills, capture meaningful moments, and tell stories through images. Led by photographer and instructor Marcie Jessee, the programs combine self-paced learning with personalized mentoring to help students improve their photography skills using a variety of cameras, including smartphones.

Marcie has worked as a portrait photographer since 2009, helping families and high school seniors preserve important milestones and memories. Her experience also includes teaching individual and group photography classes in her community. Drawing on her background as a photographer and mother of teenagers, she aims to make photography approachable, enjoyable, and useful for young people and homeschool families.

The Photography for Teens course introduces students to photography in a simple and engaging format. Teens can learn to take better pictures and develop practical photography skills with the equipment they already own, including cell phones. The course encourages creative exploration while helping students build confidence and develop an eye for compelling images. Photography can also provide opportunities for teens to express themselves, document their experiences, and use their skills to serve others.

Marcie Photo also offers a Photo and Journaling course for people who want to combine visual storytelling with written reflection. Students learn how to take meaningful photographs and pair them with journal entries to create a keepsake book. This approach helps families preserve memories, record personal experiences, and create a lasting collection of stories and images to revisit over the years.

Both courses emphasize photography as more than a technical skill. Through guided learning and mentoring, students are encouraged to notice beauty in everyday life, communicate through images, and capture the moments that matter most to them. The self-paced format allows learners to work through course material on their own schedules while developing their abilities.

Marcie Photo is a resource for teens, homeschool families, and other learners interested in photography and creative storytelling. Its courses offer an accessible starting point for building photography skills, exploring personal creativity, and turning everyday experiences into meaningful visual memories.
