Inspiring Minds of Utah provides specialized reading instruction and dyslexia support for children who struggle with reading, writing, spelling, and language processing. Located in Lehi, Utah, the organization works with students diagnosed with dyslexia as well as children who demonstrate common signs of reading difficulties. Its mission is to help students develop the skills and confidence they need to become successful, independent readers.
Instruction is based on structured, sequential, and multisensory approaches rooted in Orton-Gillingham methodology. The program uses established curricula including Take Flight and S.P.I.R.E., which systematically teach phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and other foundational literacy skills. Lessons engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning pathways to reinforce connections between sounds, letters, words, and language patterns.
Students receive highly personalized attention, with classes limited to one to three students. Before beginning services, each student participates in a screening and consultation to help determine individual needs and an appropriate instructional approach. Sessions are generally 45 minutes and take place twice per week, with the understanding that meaningful reading intervention can require sustained instruction over multiple years.
Inspiring Minds also supports educators through specialized teacher training and helps families navigate resources related to dyslexia and educational advocacy. With more than 20 years of experience, the organization emphasizes confidence, happiness, and learning while encouraging families to view dyslexia as a learning difference rather than a limitation.
