Homeschool Math Classes from Pre-Algebra Through Calculus

GR Math & Science Classes provides structured mathematics instruction for homeschool students in northern and central Utah, with in-person classes in Payson, Provo, Lehi, Layton, and Kaysville, as well as live online lessons through Zoom. Founded and led by Gesse Rosa, an engineer and physicist who enjoys teaching mathematics, the program helps students develop a deeper understanding of math through clear explanations, guided learning, and a progressive course sequence.

The curriculum offers a pathway from foundational mathematical concepts through advanced high school mathematics. Students can enroll in Intro to Math, Logic and Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry and Trigonometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I. Courses are designed for different grade levels, beginning with introductory math for students in fifth grade and above and progressing through calculus for older high school students. Placement recommendations help families identify an appropriate starting point based on a student’s previous math coursework and current grade. A free assessment confirms placement before enrollment.

Classes meet weekly for one hour and are designed to fit into a homeschool schedule. Every class is streamed live, allowing students to attend remotely even if they cannot participate at a nearby location. Students also receive access to homework, instructional videos, tests, and tutoring as part of the course experience. The program emphasizes consistent progress, practical understanding, and preparation for future academic work.

Gesse Rosa brings an engineering background from Brigham Young University and additional chemistry and physics studies at the University of Utah. His experience includes publishing peer-reviewed research in biomedical engineering. He teaches courses from Intro to Math through Pre-Calculus. Assistant teacher Conner Darling began as Gesse’s student at age thirteen and became a teaching assistant at fourteen. He now teaches Intro to Math and Pre-Algebra in Provo while pursuing training in architecture.

Families have shared that the classes have helped students move from disliking mathematics to enjoying it and feeling more capable. The program also aims to help students develop the skills needed for college readiness and standardized math assessments.

GR Math & Science Classes offers an engaging option for homeschool families seeking consistent mathematics instruction, flexible attendance, and individualized guidance as students progress from foundational concepts to advanced coursework.
