Scouting America’s Crossroads of the West Council provides opportunities for young people to learn, grow, explore, and develop skills that can serve them throughout life. With a focus on preparing youth for life, Scouting encourages participants to take on challenges, build confidence, develop leadership abilities, and practice making ethical and moral choices.
The council offers a variety of Scouting experiences, including camping adventures, events, fundraising opportunities, and programs designed to help young people become prepared for the future. Outdoor experiences are an important part of Scouting, giving youth opportunities to learn practical skills while enjoying adventure and time in nature. Families can also find local Scouting opportunities and information about joining through the council’s resources.
The organization’s mission centers on preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by teaching the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Through these experiences, Scouts are encouraged to grow from where they are and develop into the people they are capable of becoming.
